Amir Hasan wins DOIL Trailblazer Award

Arriving to the U.S. in 2012, Department of Statistics Administrative and Office Specialist Amir Hasan knows how to adapt to change.

“My family and I arrived in the U.S., carrying our lives in twelve suitcases,” said Hasan. “Despite the hurdles, these experiences have instilled in me the persistence to envision a future as a leader driving organizational growth, fostering innovation, and creating positive impact.”

Hasan received the 2023 Department of Diversity Outreach and Inclusive Learning (DOIL) Inclusive Excellence Trailblazer Award, which is presented to faculty, staff, students, and educational partners that have supported diversity and equity inclusion efforts within the College of Engineering and Computing.

With a Master's degree and a law license to practice in the High Courts of Pakistan, Hasan’s educational journey and initial work experiences began in Pakistan.

“My personal qualities and diverse work experiences honed my professional skills and guided my career path,” said Hasan. “I embrace continuous learning and personal growth, adapting to challenges with resilience.”

She is excited to continue on a path towards leadership, continued learning, and career pursuits.
